總店從1986年至今,已近30年的歷史,是知名的海鮮名店;跟眾多老店相似,臺中擔仔麵也有一段胼手胝足的發跡故事。話說來自臺南縣將軍鄉的漁村子弟周文深和周文道兩兄弟,少時為擺脫家鄉艱苦的環境,國中畢業就連袂至臺北習藝。經多年的苦練,與漁家人彷彿寫入基因裡的,天生對海鮮料理的敏銳度,1996年兄弟倆來到臺中開起專賣擔仔麵跟海鮮的路邊攤,讓大凡來過的客人皆一吃就上癮。
老客人說,這間一家子吃了二、三十年的老店,過去只有路邊六、七張桌,小小擔仔麵攤就擺在入口,每次總要先來碗麵,才開始點菜。如今除了越開越大間,還開了旗艦店,各式各樣澎拜生猛的海鮮與宴席口碑早已傳開,擔仔麵反而成了一場宴席下來,象徵古早人情味裡讓口腹與內心均感幸福滿足的ending了。
Taichung Danzi Noodle Restaurant on Meihua Street has over 30 years of history since 1986. There is also a flagship store in 2006. Right now the restaurant offers white baroque architecture with elevated ceiling or beams, indicating the infinite honor in guests.

過去的年代,擔仔麵有著樸實純真的內涵,隨著臺中擔仔麵餐廳的一炮而紅,它的成功造就了臺中人一處品嘗高檔海鮮的好所在。 眾知臺菜講究就是「鮮」字,除了各地漁港現撈海味,據說兄弟倆還有自己的漁船,想在鮮字上頭決勝負,臺中擔仔麵就已占盡先機。不僅如此,他們深諳「以客為先」的要領,換盤率高、隨時遞上乾淨熱毛巾,大啖海鮮不再杯盤狼藉,剝弄再多的蝦兵蟹將也不怕雙手黏膩。
臺中擔仔麵餐廳自製手路如曼波魚、蝦捲、白鯧米粉、南乳排骨等,大宴小酌均適宜;另有拿手料理如紅燒大排翅、焗烤活龍蝦、各式現撈生猛海鮮及臺式特色小吃等。當然鎮店招牌「鮮蝦擔仔麵」就更不用說了,沒有來上一碗,怎叫到過此地?
身為中華廚藝交流協會創始會長的周文道說,自己是很注重傳統的人,尤其除夕是中國人最重視的團圓日,所以臺中擔仔麵每年都會派財神爺發壓歲錢給來店吃年夜飯的長者、小孩,祝福一家老小,如此貼心的舉動,讓人圍爐都還沒吃完,就忙著預約明年的席次了。
